Knowing Better: Insults on The American Identity

We all know the story:  it’s the bottom of the 9th inning and the bases are loaded.

Someone will win and someone will lose.

Candidates in America are desperately sweaty on pause while incumbents bear their jagged edges and fangs.  The November elections are less than a month away.  It is as quiet as a ghost town as the opposition walk up to the showdown.  Tough words with career felling implications will be traded. Backroom wheeling and dealing will be both tolerated and capitalized upon with meanness and greed.

A firsttimer’s witness of events might look something like the argument in favor of Immigration and being served for their patriotism with a Real ID.  How could that be?

Immigration has been a controlled opposition, an agitators propaganda, and bait for the dumb and blind. Immigration is the tailored excuse for every American to start accepting a Stasi-borne police status-quo, where at every turn - your “papers” will be demanded of you.

What does the propaganda look like?  It looks like news hype on ACORN. It looks like Lou Dobb’s crowing about leprosy epidemics.  It looks like “failed documentation” and trumped threats that Mexican immigrants would really like to vote in our elections.  It appears that “tough on immigration” means that you - Joe American - must wait in a long bureacratic line to be questioned on the basis of your citizenship when you travel from point A to point B.   It means forking over your identity keys to the DMV or AAMVA, a public-private entity who WILL sell your identity keys if the price is right.

What would it mean if Real ID didn’t happen? It means tech contractors would lose their No-Bid contracts to stay in business in a corporately depressed economy.  It would mean that identity vendors would lose a key market strategy to expand their trade and assumption of the average driver’s Social Security Card and a mother’s maiden name documented on their Birth Certificate.   It would also mean that the American identity would evade identity intrusions by the Department of Homeland Security and their suffocating grasp on who you REALLY are.  They believe they need that information.

Let’s face some hard truth.

Pride goeth before the fall - this generation will inherit pollution, debt, and the serial erosion of Constitutional freedoms in pandemic proportions.  America is eating the fruit of Globalization, power in the hands of the very few.

And it does not taste good.

The Dow dumped 7,900 points and the bleeding will still not stop in spite of the bailout, as promised. The Mexicans are leaving.  We are broke.  They don’t want money they can’t cash. They have families to support. So they’re going back home.   There is no “Mexican Invasion”.    The cooks at TGIFriday’s are not going to jump out from behind the scenes and start mating wildly on your tables so they can take over. They are not coming to work, because you won’t be able to pay them.  They are not going to stand in a soup line with you when they can actually do better for themselves in Mexico.

Let politicians howl and do the military-complex junta dance they want to do, to show the monetized titans they’ve “still got it”.   Let the monetized titans pretend they are relevant and not really drowning in delusion. Let them both think that they have enough money to overcome angry mobs of pissed off robbed nuveau-peasant Americans.   They will really be surprised when the fearful-faithful they have most dutifully bled for so long wise up, have a short conversation and then in massive throngs overthrow the foolish.  It is the cycle of government.

So when all you have left in your wallet is plastic trash, paper that used to be money and a Driver’s license - a link to your former self in a better time- you will think twice about handing over those citizenship documents to be copied and “verified”.

So let them look - but don’t touch.
