How do I blog at RestoreTheRepublic.com?

When blogging at RestoreTheRepublic.com you will notice that there
are 2 text editor windows.  Each text editor window has the same
buttons and features.  You can edit text size, color and font, add
links and pictures even add videos from our state of the art videos
section. 

The first blog window is for intro text, it’s text that’s viewed on the
front page of our website and the first viewable text on the "Blogs"
page.  Once your reader clicks the [Read More] or [Full Story] link
they will see the rest of your story. 

The second blog window is for the remaining body of your blog entry. 
Remember not to include your intro text in this window because it will
show up twice. It’s best to put all your images and links in the second blog window.

If you want to add a video from our video section, click the little
"seyret video" button just below the blog editor.  Then get the video
ID number from the video’s link in your address bar. Add the video ID
number into the code that has now appeared in your blog.  The video’s
thumbnail will now appear directly in your blog!

The number you want to add is at the end of the link just after …./id,    In this case the number is 336.

Make sure you select whether or not you want to
have your blog viewed by registered users only or if you want it viewed
by all visitors to the site. You will find that option at the very
bottom of the blog editor page in the"Blog Entry Attributes" section, in the "
Who should be able to see this blog entry?" drop down menu.

If
you want to cut and paste HTML click the little "HTML" button on the
editor then a window will open up where you can simply paste your HTML
code.

If you want to include URLs in your blog PLEASE, do not
include SUPER LONG ones… they break the template… simple create a
hyperlink then hide your link behind it. 

Another thing to
consider when blogging is cutting and pasting from other websites…
when you do this you also copy the underlying html codes that are on
that other website, this may include malicious code or tables that do
not fit within our site.  Make sure you strip the code from another
website by doing a simple paste into Microsoft notebook this will
reserve the text but strip the formating.
