NH Civil Defense Militia - Update on Progress
Update:
The initial response to the NH Civil Defense
Militia has been terrific. Better than expected.
Plans:
I would like to coordinate an initial
'conception' meeting in the near future to establish the ins and outs of the
militia. We'll discuss how the militia will be formed, managed and presented.
We'll also discuss and decide on administrative structure, membership
requirements, recruiting methods, training, operations, objectives,
etc.
Militia Programs:
The members will vote on the final decisions,
but here's a tentative list of things we should consider:
- Emergency rescue operations
training
- First aid training
- Self defense training
- Firearms safety training
- Marksmanship
- Survival training
- Civic duties & community
responsibilities
- Physical fitness courses
- Fundraising for the
organization
- Checks and balance: keeping an eye on the
establishment
- Self-reliance
- Public education and information courses
and seminars
