RTR - Lewiston

RTR Radio elevated its transmitter two weeks ago and has been monitoring coverage at various times of the day as well as thru rain and shine. Although the additional height helped to fill in dead areas I have found we get our best coverage during the day as well as just after it has rained. What this tells me is our grounding system needs to be enhanced as AM Radio is dependent on a good connection to mother earth. In the comming weeks I will be elevating the transmitter yet again for a total height of about 40-50 feet. I will also be enhancing the ground system with the addition or two to three new ground rounds sunk 4 feet at various points around the property. If my research and experimentation are correct we should have a solid 1 mile and upwards of 2-3 miles at peak times.

On another note I am looking for someone who would be willing to contact local businesses in the listening area selling commercials as well as getting them to accept promotional flyers to help spread word about this community radio station.

I have compiled a list of most businesses already and will add the phone number to the list if anyone wants to volunteer time to make some calls. My ultimate goal as commercials are secured to support current overhead is to local additional transmitters to cover other parts of Lewiston and Auburn. Commision on sales is reasonable!
