Where does homosexuality fit in to all the freedoms we are fighting for with this website?? Just wondering what the feeling is among the people who are on this site.
Thanks

We are not fighting for gay rights. We are not fighting for women's rights. We are not fighting for the rights of native Americans or any other minority. We are fighting for the rights that belong to all of us. The right of each individual to be who they are - free from dominance and oppression.
We believe that no political force or organization; no government or corporation; no individual; no race; no religion has the right to dominate, control or otherwise devalue personal autonomy, safety and freedom.
We are a vast lot of individuals from a wide range of lifestyles, with sometimes strongly opposing political, religious and other beliefs, united in the strong conviction that every individual has importance and value protected by specific rights that are incapable of being alienated, surrendered, or transferred to or by any authority.
Whether you are gay or straight or red or white or black or purple or green or dumb or smart or ugly or pretty, you are welcome to join us in the fight for all of us to be who we are; to believe what we believe; to surrender our individuality to no one.

Moral codes still have a significant place in political affairs as I think they always will, and so the debate continues. Buddy has laid out the general premise from which we should proceed. However, when it comes to policy, we are going to find ourselves knee deep in dissolution if we think we can proceed without having the tough debates about how the state and individual liberties manifest themselves via the implementation of policy.
With that said, here are two issues which I think need to be hashed out:
1. Abortion
2. Gay Marriage
Personally, I don't get involved with these issues primarily because they are wedge issues that are used to sway "the masses". Most peole have an opinion and a strong point of view on these issues. I feel there are bigger issues at stake, but these seem to come up so often as to be used in every election cycle to persuade people to one side or another. With that in mind, I think it's important to take a stand and find a voice in the melee of partisan politics.
To me, it would seem that with either issue, one group of people are attempting to enforce their world view onto another group of people or inviduals. In both cases, the state is the apparatus to enforce one view over another. Rogue Justices seem to be the problem, but so does mobocracy. How do we reasonably reconcile that problem?
